1802.22 Willard House and Clock Museum

Advertisement in The Independent Chronicle and the Universal Advertiser (Boston, Mass.) from Dec. 18, 1794, by Simon Willard. The newspaper was in circulation under this title semiweekly from 1776 to 1801 as a supplement to the Boston chronicle.

Advertisement posted by Simon Willard, stating he continues at the Clock Manufactory, Roxbury St., offering Chime clocks, Eight-day clocks, Spring Clocks and Time Pieces of all Kinds. He states they are warranted to keep good time with a perpetual calendar Price $10. He also offers 'entirely new' time-piece affixed to a looking glass and large clocks for steeples (cold resistant). Perambulators (to tell miles and rods exact) are also made there (cost 3 guineas). Repeating, horizonal patent and common watches are repaired.

This particular newspaper has been found in the bake oven (parlor) of the Willard House during the renovation of the Museum.
