- Carpentry - Work with staff and other volunteers on various projects in the museum and grounds. Typical projects include building shelves, repairing benches and painting.
- Collections - Provide technical assistance to staff in inventorying and accessioning the museum's collection of clock making tools.
- Computers - Give technical assistance to staff in the use of the museum's computers and software programs.
- Docents - lnterpret the museum's collection of over 80 clocks to visitors from around the world.
- Flower Arranging - Cut and arrange flowers once or twice a week. Clean and organize flower vases.
- Gardening - Plant, water, weed and maintain the museum's flower and herb gardens.
- Housekeeping - Light dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and window cleaning.
- Library - Assist staff in organizing- and cataloging the museum's growing reference library. Some computer skills required.
- Mailings - Prepare bulk mailings several times a year.
- Museum Shop - Restock inventory, reorder and restock brochures and business cards and assist with reordering and receiving inventory.
- Newsletter - Write Willard family or Willard clock-related article for The Pendulum.
- Special Events - Assist with special event planning; prepare pastries for events; provide kitchen assistance during receptions; serve tea and refreshments during receptions; and monitor and interpret a room during special functions.
- Visitor Reception/Museum Shop - Receive museum visitors, collect admissions, answer telephone and handle Museum Shop sales.
- Visitor Research - Update monthly Visitor Log and track visitor comments and Zip Codes.
- Willard Clock Database - Collect information and photographs of Willard docks in both private and public collections.
Training is provided for all volunteers.
